A Few Facts About The Sandhill Crane
The Sandhill Crane has a gray body, with crimson on the top of it's head. Most live in freshwater wetlands. They feed on plants, grains, insects and worms. They are known to dig in the soil for tubers; this can cause framers to have significant crop damage. The life span of the Sandhill Crane is around 20 years; they weight 6-14 pounds and have a wing span of 5-6 foot. The Sandhill crane is regarded to be the best eating bird of all waterfowl that is why they are referred to as “the Rib eye of the sky".
